- Among Buddhists the term means the practice of the [lang id =1028]六度 six (sa) pāramitās; it is referred, among outsiders, to the six austerities of the six kinds of heretics:(1) [lang id =1028]自餓 starvation;(2) [lang id =1028]投淵 naked cave-dwelling (or, throwing oneself down precipices);(3) [lang id =1028]赴火 self-immolation, or self-torturing by fire;(4) [lang id =1028]自坐 sitting naked in public;(5) [lang id =1028]寂默 dwelling in silence among graves;(6) [lang id =1028]牛狗 living as animals.* * *1.指佛之六行, 即十信行、 十住行、 十行行、 十迴向行、 十地行、 等覺行。 2.外道之六行是: 自餓外道、 投淵外道、 赴火外道、 自坐外道、 寂默外道、 牛狗外道。
